Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Your Right to Delete Your Account
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, you have the right to request erasure of your personal data. You may delete your CallMissed account and associated personal data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements described below.
2. How to Delete Your Account
Option A: Self-Service (Dashboard)
You can deactivate your account directly from the CallMissed dashboard:
- Go to app.callmissed.com/settings
- Navigate to the "Account" section
- Click "Deactivate Account"
- Confirm the action
Only the account owner can initiate account deletion. Team members should contact the account owner or our support team.
Option B: Email Request
Send a deletion request to support@callmissed.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your account email and organization name for verification.
3. What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Immediate effects
- Your account is deactivated — you can no longer log in or use the API
- All API keys are revoked immediately
- All active bots stop responding to incoming requests
- All team members lose access to the account
30-Day retention period
Your data is retained for 30 days after deactivation. During this period:
- You can contact support to reactivate your account and recover all data
- No data is shared, sold, or used for purposes unrelated to recovery or legal compliance
- Your data remains encrypted and isolated in your tenant partition. Production infrastructure runs on Microsoft Azure in India (Central India). Encrypted backups for production data are maintained within India.
Permanent deletion (after 30 days)
After the 30-day retention period, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from primary systems:
- Account data: User profiles, organization details, preferences
- Conversation data: Messages, audio recordings, transcriptions
- Bot configurations: System prompts, knowledge base files, settings
- API keys: All keys and associated usage records
- Credit balance: Any remaining credits are forfeited — request eligible refunds before deleting
4. Data We Must Retain
Certain records are retained beyond the 30-day period as required by law:
- Tax and financial records: Anonymised or minimised transaction records under GST, Income Tax, and allied regulations — up to 7 years
- Security logs: As required under applicable Indian cybersecurity directions
- Legal obligations: If required by court order or competent authority, for the minimum period mandated
Retained records are not used for marketing or model training.
5. Before You Delete
- Export your data: Download conversation logs, bot configurations, or knowledge base files you need
- Use remaining credits: Credits are forfeited on deletion
- Request refunds first: If eligible (within 7 days of purchase), see our Refund Policy
- Notify your team: All team members lose access immediately
- Update integrations: Remove CallMissed API keys from your applications
6. Reactivation
Within the 30-day retention period, contact support@callmissed.com to reactivate. After 30 days, reactivation is not possible because primary data has been permanently deleted.
7. DPDPA Compliance
This policy complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. As a Data Fiduciary:
- We process personal data only for the purposes consented to or otherwise permitted by law
- We honour erasure requests within the timeframes in this policy
- We maintain data principal rights including grievance redressal — our Grievance Officer is reachable at karan@callmissed.com (see Grievance Redressal)
- Withdrawal of consent triggers cessation of processing and erasure unless retention is required by law (DPDP Rules, Rule 8)
