Account Deletion Policy

How to delete your account and what happens to your data.

Last updated: April 14, 2026

1. Your Right to Delete Your Account

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and global privacy best practices, you have the right to request deletion of your CallMissed account and associated personal data at any time.

2. How to Delete Your Account

Option A: Self-Service (Dashboard)

You can deactivate your account directly from the CallMissed dashboard:

Only the account owner can initiate account deletion. Team members should contact the account owner or our support team.

Option B: Email Request

Send a deletion request to support@callmissed.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your account email and organization name for verification.

3. What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Immediate effects

  • Your account is deactivated — you can no longer log in or use the API
  • All API keys are revoked immediately
  • All active bots stop responding to incoming requests
  • All team members lose access to the account

30-Day retention period

Your data is retained for 30 days after deactivation. During this period:

  • You can contact support to reactivate your account and recover all data
  • No data is shared, sold, or used in any way
  • Your data remains encrypted and isolated in your tenant partition

Permanent deletion (after 30 days)

After the 30-day retention period, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted:

  • Account data: User profiles, organization details, preferences
  • Conversation data: All messages, audio recordings, transcriptions
  • Bot configurations: System prompts, knowledge base files, settings
  • API keys: All keys and usage records
  • Payment history: Transaction records (we retain anonymized financial records as required by Indian tax law)
  • Credit balance: Any remaining credits are forfeited — please use or request a refund before deleting

4. Data We Must Retain

Certain data is retained beyond the 30-day period as required by law:

  • Tax records: Anonymized transaction amounts and dates (as required by Indian GST and Income Tax regulations) — retained for 7 years
  • Legal obligations: If we are required by court order or law enforcement to preserve data, we will do so for the minimum period required

Retained records are anonymized and cannot be used to identify you or your organization.

5. Before You Delete

We recommend the following before account deletion:

  • Export your data: Download any conversation logs, bot configurations, or knowledge base files you need
  • Use remaining credits: Credits are forfeited on deletion and cannot be refunded after the account is deleted
  • Request refunds first: If eligible for a refund (within 7 days of purchase), submit the request before deleting — see our Refund Policy
  • Notify your team: All team members will lose access immediately
  • Update integrations: Remove CallMissed API keys from your applications to avoid failed requests

6. Reactivation

Within the 30-day retention period, you can reactivate your account by contacting support@callmissed.com. After reactivation:

  • All data is restored to its state at the time of deactivation
  • Your plan, credits, and settings are preserved
  • API keys must be regenerated for security

After 30 days, reactivation is not possible as data has been permanently deleted.

7. DPDPA Compliance

This policy complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). As a Data Fiduciary under DPDPA:

  • We process personal data only for the purposes consented to
  • We honor erasure requests within the timeframes specified in this policy
  • We maintain data principal rights including the right to correction and the right to grievance redressal
